I am currently on a cruise ship off the coast of The Netherlands. I just discovered there are two channels on my room's TV that will show college football games, but it looks like they won't show the Ohio State game. My Hulu subscription blocks live streaming on my devices when it detects I'm in Europe. I may just have to hear about how much we won by and watch the recorded game when I get home middle of this coming week.

HS
Bucky Baller's picture

The last couple of seasons, its been possible to find live games on youtube. I'd check them out.

Just ignore him. The season is finally kicking off and he's awoken from his hibernation to attempt to ruin the day of anyone he can find on this board.

Geez, RD... Have some compassion for the guy!

HS

Hard to find much compassion for somebody that takes cruises off the coast of the Netherlands in September. Makes people like me that don't have the money to leave their county feel real good. So Rill Dill has a point not caring if LABuckeye misses the Akron game on Streaming. And LA is the armpit of the country.

HS
LABuckeye's picture

Because I am on a cruise ship, regardless of how I got there or why, I suck and shouldn’t watch the game? Got it.

HS
JackTatumsAfro's picture

I'm sorry, but yes you do suck for taking cruises to the Netherlands without me during Ohio State football season and being proud of living or being from LA.

How to watch CBS live abroad

WATCH CBS LIVE ABROAD

[ExpressVPN logo]

ExpressVPN is our #1 recommendation for accessing CBS outside the US. With excellent speeds, unrivalled location spoofing power and easy-to-use apps, it's the perfect choice for watching CBS for free anywhere. Plus, Tom's Guide readers can now claim three months free on any 12-month plan.

Things are a little different when you're outside the US.

While viewers in America have a great range of providers that can access CBS, if you're out of the country or live elsewhere there's not a lot of choice.

If you already have cable, Paramount Plus, or an OTT provider like FuboTV and you're out of the US, the most efficient way of getting access is to use the best VPN to change your location. All you need to do is select a US VPN server, then head over to the your streaming provider's site as if you were back home. Then sign in with your details, and get watching.

Our top recommendation is ExpressVPN, thanks to its super simple yet powerful apps, excellent unblocking power, and a great number of server locations worldwide.

However, for some particular events like Meghan and Harry's Oprah interview, CBS often broadcasts for free in the US. All you need to do is switch on your VPN, connect to a US server, and watch. You won't even have to sign in!

Is there a bar on the ship?  Maybe it has many displays?

HS
LABuckeye's picture

They have a daily printout delivered to all rooms that shows what’s on TVs in various parts of the ship. It’s all European football (soccer). This is a cruise out of Southampton, England. There aren’t that many Americans on this ship… though there are multiple TTUN fans for some reason.

They have two event channels in the rooms that are airing NCAA football today, but that schedule shows no Ohio State. I’m watching Big Noon at the moment, and will be watching the Penn State game (was on the schedule as Peen State).

HS

though there are multiple TTUN fans for some reason.

We took an Alaskan cruise earlier this month and those mothereffers were everywhere. On the boat, in the ports, on our excursions. It was nauseating.

Seeing that list of games in the broadcast schedule- who knew there were that many announcers.

I remember when you could be on TV for 3 games in 2 seasons. That’s it.

oh, and as it was mentioned first when Los Angeles joined the BT - now we could have 16 hours of programming. Well with Washington and Oregon now included I see that’s happening. The BT has a late game at 11 eastern from Husky Stadium. Watch pregame starting this morning at 10 am and finish at 2am with the Huskies. 16 hours in the conference. It’s a brand new day.

I am in 3C today, row 3. Good end zone seat. Go Buckeyes.

Given the team's talent and experience, I expect Freeman and Notre Dame to leave Kyle Field with a win, though the game could be a mess, and the final score could be close.

Notre Dame’s OL—the Irish are expected to start three RS SO, a RS FR, and a true freshman at LT—has six combined starts. ATM head coach Mike Elko, who came up through the defensive ranks, is going to throw a lot of stunts, blitzes and other things to confuse and disrupt ND’s game plan, which will also have to deal with ATM’s 12th Man. Kyle Field will be jumping, not exactly the best environment to break in a new OL. Elko coached ND QB Riley Leonard at Duke; tonight, he’s coaching against him and no one knows Leonard’s weaknesses better. OC Collin Klein is in his first year at ATM after seven at K-State, while ND’s defense is one of the best in the country. I see a defensive battle as the offenses struggle with first game jitters. The O/U is 46.5. I can’t see them combining for more than that. I expect ATM to win but I’d take the points with ND.

No, Iowa. No apology needed.  I appreciate the analysis of the ND/ATM game, which was excellent, BTW. I'm a Buckeye fan first, but I'm a college football fan second, and one never knows, it's possible we could play one of those teams in the playoff. After a few household chores this morning, I'll probably be watching football from 12pm to 2am tomorrow morning. I'ma try and wait until the second half of the game to crack a beer. I got some Sam Adams "Jack-O" pumpkin spice beers, ready.  But I have to pace myself. This is a long distance run, not a sprint.

I'm jacked the effing season is finally here, and the road to the destruction of TCUN begins today!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I'm squeamishly optimistic.

I think they can be vanilla without being vanilla.  Show a bunch of different formations/personnel groupings, but just be pretty basic out of it.  I’d imagine these 1st 3 weeks will be a slow build to their 1st conference game.

You're too stupid to have a good time. -Dalton

HS

I would do the opposite. Run every play in the playbook I could think of…. And a whole new bunch next week…. And even more from a totally different formation the following two weeks.

pick up our tendencies and signs from that!

For the past three years, the Ohio State football program has suffered wounds. Three losses to Michigan, a loss to Georgia in the College Football Playoff and a loss to Missouri in the Cotton Bowl.

I vacated that portion to reflect what’s happening soon. Actually, they will be forfeited by TCUN, so make them gold pants.

Round on the ends and "HI" in the middle. O-HI-O.

I am always conflicted about games like this. I care that we win by a comfortable margin to maintain our rankings. But these fluff games on the schedule are kind of like pre-season NFL games. They really have no point other than getting players time on the field to become acclimated to a new season. I am excited the season has started. But the game itself - it's not like we can boast about the result like we would if we rolled Oregon. For me, it's all about the curiosity of seeing what all the new players bring to the table.
