I would love to be wrong but I fear he’s done for the year. The way the trainers immediately diagnosed it (and quickly debriefed every new visitor) leads me to think something popped.
Huge loss ..we cannot lose too often 2 OL and Simmons is one of the most key players on the team to try and win the national championship so this sucks.... and oh my goodness defense tighten up already .
This sucks but we weren't exactly dominating across the entire line with the first team. Saw Jackson whiff on a few. Going to really have to put this on Will Howards shoulders because the line isn't as good as we thought.
Michigan. lol.
PSA: grayed out comments get read the most. Thanks!
Agree, based on the mechanism of the injury and the exam on the field, ruptured patellar tendon was a concern. Hopefully not the case but didn't look good.
The line played well even though we had two go down. Somebody call lil animal and tell him to take out Cody Simon soft ass… Bruuuh is not good at all. Denzel played like a bum as well
Dope ppl do Dope things.. Instead of fighting and pointing fingers let’s help find a solution.. Be Great Not Good!!
We needed to add a FG kicker and OT through the portal and didn’t. It might cost them the National Championship. We’ll see but losing Simmons is bigger than this game. Losing this game doesn’t really matter. We’ll probably play again in December and that will be the one that matters most. Hopefully LT doesn’t become a major liability.
lol. I guess you are assuming we beat Penn state and Michigan? I guess the bright side is we could’ve have played a worse game. Gave them 14 points on turnovers, d line and secondary was ass all game, clock mismanagement and still lost by 1. Oregon has their miscues but in the end are we really the best team in the big 10 or the nation? Texas would steam roll us. We have a loaded roster and day fucks it up as usual
I get your sentiment 100%. The only counterpoint I’d offer is team speed. Oregon seemed just as fast as 20 of the starters and faster than the last 2. IMO PSU and UM don’t look anywhere near as fast as Oregon and Oregon’s speed was a killer tonight.
I'd also offer that Oregon is by far the most balanced team we will play during this regular season. Gabriel is experienced and accurate, and has burners at wideout to test us deep, while their RB is slippery and the ground game can pick up chunk yardage in a hurry. Their defense is outstanding, as we saw tonight. scUM and PSU have clear deficiencies in their air attacks--we'll have an easier time playing the game on our terms.

The only bad thing Day dud was poor clock management at the last few plays. But the reality is, we were one ticky-tacky OPI call from winning the game. People need to step back from the ledge.
I knew it when I saw the replay. It sucks for him, and hurts the season a little.
But, as so many have pointed out in the recruiting threads, there’s no need to worry because we have a pretty good OL class in ‘26, so we’re all good.
Ohio State never catches a break, with fucking anything. If there's a weird bounce, fluke play, bad officiationg call or crippling injury, it is going to go against Ohio State 90+% of the time. This is why we have 2 championships in 55+ years.
We couldn't seem to run the ball in the second half and this doesnt help at all. Next man up, our goals are still there for the taking if we can get things patched up.
"You can't wait until life isn't hard anymore before you decide to be happy"
This is a horrible loss for the team and I hope he recovers quickly for his own sake but the offensive line will probably take a step back losing him that's just all there is to it unfortunately

This is by far the worst part of last night’s gme. Next man up, but this hurts and we are now very thin on the OL, especially at OT.
Already were thin. This feels like it lowered the ceiling on the team. Outside of Howard this was the worst possible injury to happen.
This is a prime example of that field turf not being safer than natural grass. There is no way his knee buckles there on grass.
Our pet’s heads are FALLING OFF!
Lololol. Only reason I’m not drinking til 3am tonight is that sweet 12 team playoff. Still the faves in the big ten. Guards in the ALCS.
Im drinking until 3 for you.
Buckeye 4 Life!
Next man up!
Buckeyes…Beets... Battlestar Galactica.
Bro the next man up is Zen Michalski.
And he did a great job!
Go Bucks!!!

On a team loaded with talent and depth, Simmons is the most irreplaceable.
What day is this?
Howard?

It's close, but I'd say Simmons
What day is this?
Fair enough

Zen holding his own. Howard making plays. I'm happy to be wrong sometimes
What day is this?
Nope, Sayin would do just fine, If Howard loses another game F him and roll with Sayin, best passer on the team.
Buckeye 4 Life!
They didnt lose because of Howard.
I would rather not put the football in the hands of a true freshman quarterback
Someone to run like a clown with 6 seconds left!?@,!,
I said the exact same thing. He’s the most irreplaceable guy and if he’s done for the year that’s killer
Buckeye born and raised, even after I die...
Tough injury there. Hope you're ok, Josh. Get better soon, my dude.
We can't stop here; this is bat country...
Lineman the only position we cannot lose and we lost 2.
Exactly
We just don't have the OL depth we need. This one hurts big time.

100% done.

That SUCKS! Really hope it’s not as bad as we’re all afraid of.

Something popped when he was planting his foot. Hoping it was just partial meniscus and he can return this year.
if you don't win los you are not going to win Natty!
OL is not a very strong group in the first place.
If you can’t make a fourth and one, you don't deserve to win.
Yeah when a cart comes out that’s never fucking good

The one player we really could not afford to lose.

These two injuries are certainly critical.
Self crowned Eleven Warriors humble-off champion.
Devastating death blow. Other than that it’s no big deal.
oh well. I’ll always have the memories of 2002 and 2014.
Any updates at all other than “knee, doubtful to return”?
in the nfl we have doctors who seem to be able to diagnose injuries based on video
Time for OSU to commit to the run game.

Bruh Did u see the size of #76 ? Dude is big as hell. They got the best of each other tonight.
Dope ppl do Dope things.. Instead of fighting and pointing fingers let’s help find a solution.. Be Great Not Good!!
Sucks that it’s Simmons. The guy absolutely earned his keep on the OL. Heartbreaker for him and for the potential of this team.
What the heck is wrong with Burke? Dude is getting burned and issues with tackling.
JoeZipp
seemed like quad or patellar tendon from the poking they were doing on the field
vacuuming sucks

Dude is literally the ONLY player on the team we don’t have a back up for. Was having an elite season as well. Ohio state is just cursed
#JK2K
Just personal opinion, but Michalski did great coming off the bench.
Go Bucks!!!

Fuck
In Ryan Day & Ross Bjork We Trust.
I would guess an ACL. That's it for his career in Columbus. Absolute shame to see it end that way.
Fraudbaugh
Zen as the starting left tackle is just something we all were concerned about this off-season. Have to think they look at all options there.
Stay gold, Ponyboy.
And here I thought OSU was finally catching a break in regards to injuries....Fucking wonderful.

There is simply no way to sugarcoat this one.
Zen Michalski has two weeks to get his confidence up and some practice reps under his belt with the 1's.
The fake grass claims another victim. So sad.
We're fucked.. thanks frye...

Losing Simmons is huge. Looked like an ACL. Get well young man.
LT and C, along with QB, are the three positions we couldn’t really afford to lose.
Our running game was going so well.
this is terrible...so sorry for him. he was playing so well...
This is a horrible loss for the team and I hope he recovers quickly for his own sake but the offensive line will probably take a step back losing him that's just all there is to it unfortunately
