Well we are only really playing 2 and their eligibility is up and the rest must not be good enough. That must be the reason there is no rotation. Any guesses who is responsible for that? DV DV DV DV

Practicing? Ole Ole Ole
Our top DT is not in the game when Oregon is in short yardage situations because he is worn out because of no rotation because of a coaching mistake or poor recruiting...one or the other. Of course the DL will look good in the first 3 games.
DTS? Too many wombs in the South. DV DV DV
Neither is an athletic blindside offensive tackle. Ole.
Our best DT is worn out in the 4th quarter and on the bench on red zone short yardage defense because of lack of rotation and/or mistakes in or lack of recruiting. Playing defense line is far different than OL when it comes to fatigue. At DT playing against good teams, the DTs will often face 650+lbs on double teams and/or co-op blocks. Those DTs are far different in the 4th quarter than earlier in the game without rotation.
PSU has a huge OL and expect our rotationless DL to be hard pressed again.
If Oregon's star DE,at 6'6'' 295, is healthy next time, he will line up on our blindside OT, whoever that may be, and Ole, Ole.
It is what it is.
Hasn't contributed in 31/2 years here. Why??
And the sub for our lost blindside OT played well? Must have had a different channel, those people who claimed that. Ole Ole!!
If you don't ROTATE the big uns up front against good teams dead legs take over in the 4th QTR. Surprise, surprise. If you don't recruit enough good big uns so you can't rotate who's fault is that? The Head Coach, the DL Coach or the DC????????? Or combo???
Both lines suffer from mistakes in recruiting:OL lacking any quality athletic depth at OT and DL apparently the same. I say apparently because of not enough playing time at DT because of lack of rotation. It has been and will always be: It's what upfront that counts.
I used to be able to say our DES were fine. My major concern was our DTS...the type recruited and when and lack of a true rotation despite being told in August by the DC, DL coach and Head Coach we would see that rotation this year because of blah. blah and blah. Against good teams...well. Our only true blind side OT is being replaced by a guy who has had very, very, very few plays when it counted over 31/2 years and almost none at blind side tackle. Simmons was athletic and quick. I fear a return to a plethora of Ole blocks coming from both OTS. I am hopeful both those problems get solved in 2 weeks. Not likely but hoping. I too really like Ryan Day. I humbly apologize for pulling the screen away but it is what it is.
Losing our blindside OT with out a an experienced backup will be a plus?
You have all heard from great coaches saying you win or lose in the trenches. Our OL may have been adequate but certainly not great or deep. Our DT depth must be vacant(next year looks bleak). Emphasis on the trenches has been lacking for several years and not what you would expect for OSU in the trenches. DBs, WRs, RBS, has been excellent. Emphasis comes from the top...you get what you emphasize. That starts and sometimes ends with the inner philosophy of the head guy. You can DV all you want and I personally like Day very much.
That is not a rotation at DT. It may be a SUBStitution but not a ROTAtion. Rotation would look something like 35 35 25 25. Sad.
If LJ makes the
If LJ makes the "non-rotation" decisions he should be stripped of that duty. It's either that or if he doubts his own recruits well then...We look good there against not so good OLs but against teams with good OLS not so good. Sad to say but maybe its time.
Apologize in advance to DVers. But it really is what it is.
So is LJ based on recruiting and/or lack of rotation.
Recruiting has slipped up front, not just development.
Texas is very good in the trenches.
2 340lbers, one at OT and another at DT, both athletic do not make them smaller up front at least.
A lot of people don't focus on the trenches or know what to look for. Hope we improve but on offense injuries hurt us and lack of capable subs, apparently, brings heavy legs for our DTS. Hope the morale holds up. Lot of guys came back with certain goals. Can't believe our CB performance.
Don't think you can win a NL with weaknesses up front. Thin at OL. Lost best offensive lineman at blindside OT. Still don't get why DTs aren't rotated on a regular basis unless LJ made guffaws in recruiting and took some because he whiffed on the better ones.
How is PSU upfront?
