This season comes down to the coaches being able to coach-up the O-line with Simmons out along with Chip being able to call plays to hide the weaknesses of the O-line. I believe the defense will be fine. Knowles will (and better) figure it out.

Regarding your Hoops Hoops Hoops, hard to get teams from the same conference unless you can guarantee they will not play each other...for obvious reasons. Need to determine if a MAC school would get paid more for playing OSU at the Schott or in the tournament. Love the idea of a State Tournament. UC, X, UD and OSU are the big 4 & all from different conferences. What could be fun would be to pair that tournament with a high school tournament - maybe schools from Indiana, Kentucky, _ichigan, Ohio and PA.
What the heck is wrong with Burke? Dude is getting burned and issues with tackling.
Great Song. Buckeyes are going to ROCK Eugene Saturday evening!!!!
The Defense will say to the Duck's Offense: DO YOU MINE IF WE DANCE WITH YOUR DATES!
Bench the kicker. 3 strikes (kicking ball out of bounds), you’re out!!!
Could not agree more on Malone. I really expected him to push for starter minutes. McDonald passed him by and Hero is solid. Can't wait for Hero to start next year so the announcers can make up phases when he gets a sack and TFL. Plus, sandwich shops will be begging him for commercial spots!
Can somebody explain to me why xichigan players had so many helmet stickers after week one??? Seriously, were they carried over from last year? Had a good group of friends over to watch TX beat the crap out of them and all commented about the stickers. Seems Sherrone has gone totally woke...you get a sticker, you get a sticker...EVERYBODY gets 10 helmet stickers!
I really like the way Chip is using the RBs and not running Howard much at this point. We don't need Howard running the ball.....yet. Chip seems to be saving that chapter of the playbook until it is needed, most likely to go Duck Hunting and to tame the kitties in Happy Valley.
To me, the best quote was: Knowles said Kelly excels at attacking a defense's weaknesses. "All kinds of things. Very talented in the run game and the calls and keeping me off-balance. ... Every defense has holes and he's really good at finding it and trying to cover everything, when we all know that's not possible." In the past, fans have been critical of the coaches not changing things up during the game. Looks like that will not be a problem under Kelly. Kelly now has a ton of weapons that he never really had before.
Let's not forget that we have DBs who can cover and tackle. A blitz has 2 purposes: sack or get the ball thrown early. A 3 yard dump pass on 3rd and 10 is great meaning the blitz did its job. With the rushmen in, they will occupy all 5 linemen (can't block one on one effectively) so the blitzer has either free shot at the QB or a RB who he will blow-up. Like most have said, CJ will be utilized as a strength or not utilized at all.
This is good clean FUN. Great that they are embracing the Big Ten! The Duck in Indy was insane. Their marketing person is a genius!
Jace Middleton is one bad ass dude.
Its 90 degrees and Miles Walker looks like he is COLD!
Hate to roll out an unproven punter in week 5 vs. Ducks in the Pacific NW. First 4 games will have at best 6 punts. When it is 63-0 in the 4th quarter against Akron, start punting the ball on 1st down and rotate the punters. Will give the punt protection team needed experience too. Heck, tell Akron to put their punt block squad in on some, and return squad in on others. Ohio State is paying Akron huge dollars, they should accommodate us. Ha Ha.
I think most are under estimating Chip. He has experienced so much football, especially on the offensive side of the ball that I am expecting him to put the players in position to be successful and to cover-up weaknesses. If the OL can't sustain blocks for 4 to 5 seconds, he is not going to call plays that require that. I expect the defense to give up 8 points a game on average with the high being 17 to maybe 24 at most to Oregon (because of it being a home game for them; 24 if they get a TO for a short field or a defensive score). Chip will figure out how to score a minimum of 24 every game based on talent alone with an average of 42 with one game in the 60's.
Interesting Bjork talking about culture and leadership when Jimbo had no culture or leadership at A&M…or at best a culture of no culture.
“I don’t know that I’d say it was an intense workout, but we competed in individuals before we did one-on-ones. Not many colleges do that. We were having fun the whole day, but we were competing. That was the main two things about my day.”
Love this quote. If a recruit does not say something like this, stop recruiting him. Bralan thinks competing is FUN. Love it!
Really hope they get the new hockey arena done soooooooner than later. She is awesome. If she continues to win, someday her name will be on the sheet of ice!
Sorry dude, we did not beat out anybody. Kid is an OSU homer; given the opportunity, he would commit...which he did. It's easy to offer high 4 & 5 star players. It takes confidence and talent evaluation to offer a 3 star with limited experience. Mr. Hartline strikes again!
Could not agree more about Shipley, dude is easy to root for. Very likeable. Not stereotype golfer. Dude looks more like he came out of the caddy shack then the country club locker room.
I don't have a problem with the decommitment. There are 2 5* in the class and the room is loaded. I would assume (and hope) he had discussions with the coaches prior to decommitting. I would also assume this frees up some NIL dollars for other recruits. Crazy we have to "manage" dollars like pro teams but that is reality now.
Devin Royal starts next season. I was at the Cornell game and watched Devin during warmups. He seems to have a fun loving personality that his teammates love. Yet, he works his a$$ off and performs at a high level when given the chance. Dude is fearless. It would not surprise me if he is a 16pt, 6rb, 1.5 steal guy next season shooting 35% from 3. Dieb showed a lot faith in him when he took over. He is my breakout star next season.
Every big knows that to make it in the NBA, you have got to shoot 3's. I expect Bradshaw, Stewart and Parks to be living in the gym shooting 3's between now and November. Can't wait to see Stewart guarding a guard as there is no way that guard is getting a shot off!!!

2024 will be a really long season. I anticipate a lot of rotating at all positions, including QB. Last year, there were only 6 players with 2 sacks or more. There should be 7+ defensive line players with at least 2 sacks each this year plus another 4 LB/DBs with 2 sacks each. This defense should set records or come darn close to multiple records as it should be that good!
