Before you call Sawyer and JT overrated take a look at the history of defensive lineman not living up to the billing. It's becoming a trend. Highly ranked players flopping and lower ranked recruits not developing.
I'm concerned the defense is at its peak. A bunch of upper class players with multiple seasons in the system, you have to question is their room for growth or is this group as good as it's going to be.
Lost me soon as Burke wasn't the lowest rated
Or they can explain to you shutting out Akron or Western won't win you a trophy
It's actually a fact that's the average the defense allows in games that matter
Yeah it's expected but 30 plus explains the record.
Knowles defenses have surrendered 32.3 points per game in top 10 matches since his arrival. And that Missouri game really drags this number down.
13.4 million watched a pair of 2nd rate announcers butcher a game. NBC really skimped on their broadcast teams.
This shit goes back to before Jim Knowles was Defensive Coordinator. This dates back to post Young. Zach Harrison never lived up to the billing either. Javonte Jean Baptiste transfers out and is having a great season. Something stinks.
Fielding has 11 more touchbacks in 6 games than ruggles had the entire season. I'm fairly confident he has a much stronger leg.
Yeah the Georgia game don't even compare other than both attempts should of been set up by the run. You have to know who you have at kicker. I'm alot more confident in Fielding. Sometimes I wish Ohio st would try to kick longer field goals against the likes of Akron and Marshall instead of going for it all the time. Just to get the kicker the work for days like last Saturday.
Almost wish he would of, the defense needed something to spark them.
In August did anyone have any concerns about the defense? All I thought about was the offensive linemen and if Will Howard could get the job done or if JJ could live up to the hype. Talk about a complete 180. Disappointed in such a veteran group
Or you run the ball instead of throwing with one of your two all American running backs. Already was in kicking range.
Imagine if the officials get the call right on the opening drive, that's 7 points off the board. Then tack on a couple more extra points Oregon threw away now your are down 9. Game don't look nearly as close.
No way NIL donors are happy. Day is at the crossroads because the money talks. No way millions continue to roll in getting beat in the biggest games. Nobody is giving to see the Buckeyes thump Western Michigan. The money is to get you over the hill in these top match ups and donors aren't getting their moneys worth.
Knowles should of never been forced to take on the previous coordinators staff. LJ is set in his ways and it really don't mesh with what Knowles wants to do.
Won't win too many games getting lit up for 5 bills, zero sacks zero turnovers zero pressure.
You either need a good pass rush or safetys to help the corners when they aren't winning their match ups. Knowles continued to leave the corners on an island and generated no pressure all night. And you would think they must of stopped the run leaving the corners in man, but nope they didn't do that either. Just a pathetic game plan Jim Knowles should give his game check back. Ryan day should too. Brings in Kelly so he can oversee more of the Defense and this is the result. It's definitely one for the defenseive staff to be ashamed of.
Burke needed safety help or a pass rush. He got neither.
I always questioned the hiring of Jim Knowles and retaining the position coaches from the previous staff. Jim Knowles was forced to change what he does on defense to accommodate previous staff. It's not working and something has to give.
Knowles shows up to blow a huge cloud of smoke up Buckeye nations ass. Bia- Blow in Ass
Did the cheating help with the physical beating they put on Ohio st? I'm 100% sure the cheating helped Michigan but I will say it didn't help one bit giving Ohio st a physical ass whooping. That's a mindset to go out a pound the piss out of the guy in front of you. No amount of stolen signals teaches that.
It's Larry Johnson and his 4 man fronts. It's not what Knowles does. The hiring of Knowles was the square peg in a round hole with LJ. The 2 simply don't mesh
I'm plenty humbled after tonight
