Big Jake has been the real deal from the beginning! We are in good hands as fans. I believe this is just the start of great things to come for the whole program! Go Bucks!!
Don't know why this is being downvoted, it is a legitimate question. Especially as a SG/CG, I would expect him to average over 20, although he may have had another guy on the team who was legit too
Richmond Heights was the most talented team in Ohio last year. Remember TJ Crumble a top 25 sophomore in America was his teammate last year. They play D4. They have had winning streak of close to 50 consecutive games recently. They play a national schedule, played the toughest schedule in Ohio last year. They most D1 teams like St Ignatius, St Edward, ASVSM, Moeller, Reynoldsburg and they traveled out of state to play elite national prep teams on Montverde and IMGs level.
I don't think most of you know about Richmond Heights program. You also have to understand Richmond Hts wins
Another fun fact for you all. The head coach and AD of Richmond Heights is Quentin Rogers. Longtime coach of All Ohio Red. Nike EYBL. If that name sounds familiar, it should. Rogers coached Jared Sullinger and Aaron Crafts All Ohio Red teams to AAU national championships and 203-7 record over 3 summers coaching them for AOR in HS.
I had a typo but wanted to add that whenn RH gets gets into the D4 playoffs, they usually win games by 20-50 pts up into maybe the D4 state final. There are also a couple other D1 players on the roster, maybe not high D1 but mid major level. Point being they all average like 10-15 it's a game because they either play tough elite competition OR blow local D4 teams out. Either way it doesn't lead to a 25 ppg average for any player on the team, even Crumble or Jones.
I was waiting on this story. I saw him select us a couple of hours ago on YouTube. Very good news.6' 4" is nice size. So glad that he chose the Buckeyes.
I live in Richmond Heights. There is pretty much no city there at all but their basketball teams are always dominate. Something tells me this kid works out with several big time schools up here. I have never even seen an outdoor court up here. I will say this, he is probably a high character kid too because I never hear anything bad about a Richmond Heights kid and I teach at Cleveland Heights. Those kids know everything that goes on and I have never heard them say a Richmond Heights kid was involved. You never see kids walking the streets. I think they got a great one.
Umm, what are you even talking about? Are you SURE you live in Richmond Heights? If you did, you would think you would know they literally just built a brand new high school with a new gymnasium. Also, there are plenty of outdoor basketball courts at Richmond Heights city park. On top of that, if you knew anything about Richmond Hts basketball, you would also know they play a D 1 schedule and play all the top local programs (St Ignatius, St VSM, St. Ed’s, Mentor, etc.)
I know their schedule, the school is phenomenal. All I’m saying is I don’t hear about kids getting in trouble or hanging out on street corners at 1:00 in the morning like they do at Cleveland Heights, Euclid, East Cleveland. Don’t put words into my mouth. Btw, you live in Richmond Heights?
Cleveland high school players, regardless of ranking, always seem to mature slower and take longer adapting to the college game more so than their peers that are from just about anywhere else in the country, especially in basketball. It's a safe bet he'll be a long term project before he will ever produce at a level that aligns with his 4 star top 100 ranking. Still better than getting nobody. I have no doubt he has talent, but how long it takes him to acclimate himself to the bright lights of being at Ohio State is anybody's guess.
They sleeping on Antoine West from Toledo Whitmer. He can play the point or the 2. Can get to the basket and shoot the triple. The dude will out work any of these boys.
tl; they didn't sleep on him, they offered him and they watch him play. But these two play similar positions so they likely won't take both especially with the guard talent related to ohio.
This kid likes to play defense and thinks he's the best d player in america. lol But he does have a lot of athleticism and his o will come around to some extent.
So many great basketball players in Ohio next few years, got to keep these kids in the state. NW Ohio will have several including great shooters like Cam Elwer (Delphos St Johns), Jordan Priddy (Lima CC), Bertke (Shawnee), Foster dudes (Lima Sr)....Lots of talent out there, it's fun to watch Ohio basketball right now.
5 star Niko Bundalo can really shoot for a 6'11" guy. And from distance according to the videos. The Cleveland area is producing some top basketball talent.

" It's real good whatcha done Anthony, real good ! "
His team really likes to run. Gets up and down the court at full speed. Exciting to watch.
Lock them down, Deibs!!
Nice get but seems strange for a shooting guard to get first team all-state and only average 14.1 points per game.
I don't buy one goddam drop of gas in the state of Michigan!

Sup, lil Dudes!
Can't believe you just went there.
bet i get more DV's than you.
Michigan. lol.
PSA: grayed out comments get read the most. Thanks!
Maybe … and just maybe …. He isnt required to score to showcase his talent lol
Probably plays Defense.
They have won the states in Div4 for the last 3 years. Lots of talent on his team. The school is very small and south of Euclid in Cleveland.
You need to ask the people who voted for him... and make sure to let them know how incompetent they are evidently based on your way thinking...

Hopefully I provided some level of context.
Thanks for the context Cdub, I live in Wisconsin and don't follow prep hoops like I used to.

Yep. Grew up nearby. When I was in HS, Richmond Heights was a wrestling powerhouse.

Man, I am just getting old, his picture looks like he’s 12. I guess that means even more potential ahead though. Congrats to the kid from Ohio!

I was thinking the same thing. Hopefully he is a baby-faced assassin!

He has had an offer for awhile. He could have jumped on anytime.
Holtmann offered him. I am not sure Diebler reaffirmed the offer once he became head coach.
Probably moot because I don't see West and Jones both being taken.
tl; they didn't sleep on him, they offered him and they watch him play. But these two play similar positions so they likely won't take both especially with the guard talent related to ohio.
