Think we are better than Oregon, rutgers and even MSU. But I’m alright being 8th considering how bad we have been and that puts us in the tournament
Purdue is being vastly overrated without Zach edey though. Braden smith is a nice player but he’s not all American good and the rest of Purdues roster is mediocre.
I don't think Purdue will be #1 at the end of the season. The tree that was allowed to stand next to the hoop changed A LOT about how that team operated. Although they have another tree on the roster, he isn't Edey, so he won't command as much attention and get superstar treatment (3 sec. violations). I think they'll fall back to earth quickly and end up outside the top 3.
With so much uncertainty, new coaches, transfers, and new incoming players everywhere, I'm not sure any of these predictions will sort out. It should be exciting as a fan for a lot of teams as it all sorts itself out.
Huge conference, bunch of teams will be pretty different from last season, etc. I'm not surprised we are picked 8th, as I think you could make an argument for any of the teams ahead of us to be ahead of us, but you could also make an argument for OSU to be ahead many of them. Thing is, you could also make an argument for a few of the teams behind us to be ahead of us. No one really knows how this is going to turn out. Like, I get why Purdue is getting picked to win the conference, but even with them you are talking about a program that was kind of built around Zach Edey the past two seasons, and now they have a Zach Edey-sized hole. So who knows how good they're even gonna be?
Talent-wise I think OSU stacks up pretty well, on paper, but time will tell what the actual team chemistry looks like and what the strengths and deficiencies will be of the line-ups we throw out there. I think the media voters are probably playing it a bit safe in terms of this being Diebler's first year as a HC, which makes sense.
Anyways, in this big-ass iteration of the B1G, finishing 8th probably has us safely in the Dance, so I wouldn't be mad about 8th place this season.
No surprise there. Don't see a movement into the top of the Cfr unless OSU can sign Peterson, & hopefully, Bundalo to put the program back in the spotlight for recruits.
Braden smith being pre season player of the year might be the worst I’ve ever seen for the big ten. He’s an awful defender and was bailed out by edey the last 2 years. In terms of all around players Purdue lost their 3 best in edey jones and Gillis and didn’t replace them. I’m pretty surprised where they have Ohio state I kind of think it’s Indiana and Ohio state as the 2 teams with the most potential
Braden Smith POY what a joke. Watch what happens when u lose the best player in country and everybody had to double and triple team him. I bet his stats this year his junior year are below his sophomore year. When all you gotta do is dump to a 7-4 and stand life is easy. Gonna get a lot harder for him this year.
It doesn’t matter where they start. It only matters where they finish. I may be a delusional fan but I think they’ll exceed expectations this year. So excited for Buckeye Basketball!!
You're NOT delusional. We'll get our first look at the BB team in Vegas when they knock off the Longhorns in the seasonal opener on November 4th...............O-H.........!!
OSU will surprise the experts if they stay healthy.......Solid guard play wins titles and OSU has solid guard play this year......MUST stay healthy ...........O-H.........!!
Going to out on a limb here.
I think we do probably end up somewhere in the middle of the standings for the regular season.
We make a run in the B1G tourney but maybe get to the semifinals and end up around an 8 seed in the NCAA's.
We jell just at the right time and end up in the final 4.
Oregon, UW, and UCLA definitely made the road to a top 5 finish much more difficult. 8th should be good enough to get us in the NCAA Tourney this season.

No way. If Ohio State doesn’t finish higher than 8th, I will shove a 5-layer burrito up my …. Eh, just kidding. I would never do that.
Love it
Motivating material
Also... Purdue likely overrated without Edey
Hard to wrap my head around 8th being middle of the pack...
Strange times to be a part of the B1G

the empire never ended
8th in this conference will get you in the Big Dance but I believe this team has size, depth and talent so they may shock the world. Go Buckeyes!!!

Purdue will just have another tree.
ya think?
Will Berg 7'2" 260 lbs
Daniel Jacobsen 7'4" 230 lbs
four other guys 6'9" or taller.
FFS do these guys grow on trees?

Even the Buckeyes have 2 players at 7'1" and Parks at 6'10"

Predicted in the top half; now let Diebler & Co go exceed expectations.
As long as we finish ahead of TCUN.
8th seems about right to me. Make the ncaa tournament and it will be a successful season.
I think and hope that this team will surprise a lot of people, I'm thinking top five in a tough Big Ten.

Just very glad that the big stiff is finally out of this league.
The disrespect will will fuel Diebler and this team . I love it .

If Braden Smith is the best they have it is going to be a weak league.
