I'm convinced the Athletic Department provides every new OSU coach with the manual "how to lose in the spotlight" that is mandatory reading.

I've become accustomed to us losing in big games recently, but for me this goes all the way back to 1970 against Stanford in the Rose Bowl.

Upside is we are so good we get lots of opportunities; downside is it seems we don't take advantage.  Reality is that we are 27W-29L in bowl games all time; 13-11 in the 2000's.

re: backup QB, I agree.  A problem however in that the opportunity to get Sayin, who I believe to have the better upside, some time in the game has largely passed by.  No more cupcakes like the past three teams.  The only reasons to play Brown are loyalty and experience and one of those is not a good reason and the other could, to an extent, have been fixed.

terrible is a bit harsh.

His body language on the field seems to say that he is resigned to his fate, being behind a good number of more talented WR's, and when he gets an oppotunity (two weeks ago a kickoff return, yesterday's pass to him) but doesn't make the play it just reinforces that.

My take on Wiscy:  Fickell knows what it's going to take to be successful in the 2020's.  He needs a more dynamic offense, which requires better skill position guys.  It'll take time to go get those Florida/Texas/California recruits to sign on with Wisconsin.  For those that say they should revert to the OL and RB driven ground and pound offense, look at the 2014 B10 championship game when they played a team with great skill position talent.  63-0 IIRC.  Maybe Wiscy should set their goal to be 8-4 or 9-3.

I have no idea why anyone hires Grinch.

Gholstin, Porter, Daniels are Ohio guys who played with Orlando at OSU.  Those types aren't here anymore.  Check down south.

However, talent and hard work will kick both their asses.

Yep, personally I'm tired of the gritty overachieving Ohio boy narrative... especially as it pertains to the OL.

Anyhow, the thing is, you won't play at OSU if you don't work hard.  It's part of the job description.
