It seemed a couple years ago that Bronny was ranked in the 100s and everyone said Bryce was bigger and better. It was even inferred that some schools recruiting Bronny were more interested in Bryce and wanted a 2 for 1.
I remember reading the exact same thing, Bryce was supposed to be the more coveted prospect. I was shocked to see he was a fringe 4 star, but I haven't followed either James kid's development or recruiting that closely.
I think Bronny legitimately did improve, for starters. I also think a lot of the interest in Bryce was after it became clear he was going to end up being taller than Bronny, since height is usually a plus for determining someone's potential.
A free trip, football game, and social outing to Ohio State. I'd probably do the same even if I had no intention of going to the school if I was 16 years old.
I’ve read a few places that Bryce really struggled this past AAU season so I’m wondering, name and familial ties aside, if this is a player that would under regular circumstances would even be a take for Ohio State.
I know it’s just an unofficial visit but just trying to gage how serious or casual the interest potentially is from both sides.
Not every offer is made public, there are a lot of players in football and basketball who get verbal offers without announcing them. In all honesty fans and others have no idea what is going on on the recruiting trail or who is about to come here who isn't, 247 just posts what they know of which isn't but about 50-60% accurate other than sure fire commits. Holtman is one who does not make his recruiting very public and for good reason.
Why does LeBron James have a locker when Jerry Lucas doesn’t?
Jerry won so many awards along with his team mates, while he was at O.S.U. and LeBron who never played here, wants to buy his way with tennis shoes, etc…
There's a 0.0% chance Bryce plays outside the LA city limits. Especially after what happened to Bronny, they're not letting him be thousands of miles away. He'll be at USC.
C’mon now, his daddy’s now in the billionaire stratosphere. Coming here on their “own dime” is kinda what if is like for that family as they don’t need to worry about the expense beyond five official visits. If there’s mutual interests between he and the university, then that’s what it is - mutual interest. I live in the Columbus vicinity and I’m okay with that. Kids that principally want a free trip, most likely have interest in playing for the University of Hawaii and kids that want to play for a basketball dream school don’t see Chris Holtmann’s team as the top of the mountain. I don’t care if he comes here or not so I can accept whatever his decision is. But whatever it is sounds like one that is well-founded and a free trip to the Schott rings a little hollow to them. And, I’ve always heard that Bryce was a better player than Bronny. I wish them both well.

Enjoy the game, Bryce.

I’m sure some will hate this, but depending on need and as he projects he could be a really nice fit.

The most "loud mouth, disrespect" poster on 11W.
This makes me happy. I’m still devastated for Bronny. Hope Bryce has a great visit!
This is definitely where I parked my car.
Not. Playing. Here.
I would've sent a check but I already sealed up the envelope...

Not that it really matters to his dad but unofficials are not a free trip.

Must watch ladies Volleyball during the season & missed Holtmann's roster the last 5 years.
Yeah he ain't coming here, just coming to check out a game in the shoe... nothing to see here
He has two offers, Duquesne, USC. What makes you think he would not attend Ohio State(which, btw, has not offered him)?
Just a little more explanation to clarify your take. Possible?

Fool me once, shame on you… We can’t get fooled again!
Cb
Not holding out hope he comes here to play hoops. But getting him on campus is a start.
3star Recruit I would say we can do better?? Wouldn't turn a higher rated player down to take him.
Just FYI there are 3 current shooting guards from Ohio who are rated higher than him! I would rather pursue them at this point.

Talk about O.S.U being played by a non student!!!
Not a good look for O.S.U…
Jerry Lucas has his name in the rafters, LeBron doesn't.
Anyone who gives a bunch of money to the university gets their names on various buildings no matter if they went here or not. Just how it is.

Comparing The Schottenstein Center or The Blackwell, to tennis shoes??? LOL
They have a full partnership. The LeBron logo is on OSU uniforms. It's more than just "tennis shoes".
Ok, welcome and enjoy your visit.
If not now, when?
Don’t get played again people. He’s going to USC, UCLA or some other California school. That’s it, let it go and move on now.
If he comes here great, utilize Lebron's pull to your benefit, if he doesn't, there are other players who will be happy to take his place.

Even if he had never stepped foot on a basketball court, it would still be good for the program having him on the team.
