I got up at @3:30 AM to listen to the game the other night. Had to get up anyways to drive my son to catch a bus going back to his base. But I will say football exhausts me, it's OK when they win but this site now just sucks the wind out of any enthusiasm I have for basketball that is beginning so soon. Shit, in 4 days they play Cincy, which will be on the radio. Go Bucks!

Royal was fun as hell to watch in the final portion of last year. He showed why Ohio State was pursuing him and beat out Izzo for him. Hes a bucket within 15 and gave opposing teams fits because he plays for the bucket and manges to get it over guys much taller. Maybe Diebler wanted him to show some effectiveness from further out in the off season, maybe he overdid it, but he is as valuable a piece to the frontcourt as any player that suits up, and will be fun to watch while he f*cks up gameplans of opposing taller frontcourts. Gives vibes of Nick Ward back in the day, one that Matta let get away to Izzo.

Easter's next OV to USC. I don't know if that is really his last but its all that has been reported so far. I am sure there will be feedback behind paywalls, but I won't have access. Jardy will probably have an article up in time, he had one after Peterson's visit and Bundalo's visit. He has been a high priority target for Ohio State for ages, comes from Toledo, but the only way we will realy know how his visit went is if he commits to Ohio State and there are no crystal balls out at present, Same with Peterson and Bundalo, no crystal ball predictions at least per 247. For that matter nothing for A'mare Bynum, Davion Hannah, two other guys we are pursuing. Maybe behind some paywall they give more info. Doubt it, lol

Listening to Jardys podcast interviewing former Ohio State player Matt Terwilliger from August 26 has me feeling pretty good about Ohio State's NIL pitch to high school guys. Of course forr many recruits money becomes the bottom line. Impossible to believe that whichever school can offer the most money to a high school player who has never played a minute of D1 ball is not gonna win specific recruiting battles. I do think however many of these 18 year olds are not gonna be lured solely by money. The recruitment of a Jerry Easter calibre player(not a guaranteed one and done but a top 30ish player) will not be won by Ohio State based solely on the NIL money they can offer him. It will be about how the player can be promoted at whatever school he chooses. Matt Terwilleger has been recognized by Forbes two years running for the top wealth manager in the state of Ohio. He is heavily involved with The Foundation and may be one of the primary reasons guys like Bradshaw and Stewart ended up as Buckeyes. Yes funds will be required to land top recruits but it may not be the ultimate deciding factor. This is why we may still be in the race for Bundalo and/or Peterson.

A breakdown of visitors for this weekend Ohio State will host six recruits this weekend, two of whom will be on official visits. Dispatch.com has the full expected list of visitors. https://www.dispatch.com/story/sports/college/basketball/2024/10/03/ohio-state-basketball-recruits-2025-class-official-visit-columbus/75499013007/

A commentor said a while back that a class of Dorian Jones Jerry Easter A'mare Bynum would be the ideal class and I agree. While it's fun to speculate on Bundalo and Peterson my money is on Diebler getting at least one of the guys visiting this weekend, maybe both. This is where The Foundation needs to earn their reputation for Ohio State basketball.
