Tez Johnson’s stats as their leading receiver would be good if he was a TE. Under 10 yards/catch isn’t the stuff db’s lose sleep over. As long as they tackle well and slow up/shut down the run, it’s over. Gabriel will be running for his life not 1st downs.
He's a slot, so a lot of underneath stuff, moving the chains. He was 13.5 per last season, so he's more than capable. At 165lbs, he's slippery and quick but can be handled. I don't know if he was dinged or what but Boise shut him down.
I think Egbuka is very underappreciated. He's like KJ Hill with a JSN tool box. I am so happy he is healthy. He is a problem for every team on our schedule this year.
On any other team over his career he is a three year player that goes Top 20 in the draft because of how good he actually is. He has been overshadowed by either the best receiver OSU has ever had, the most productive receiver we've ever had, or a freshman that will likely be both. That's ridiculous and simply bad luck.
There isn't really anything Egbuka cannot do outside of be a Devin Smith deep threat. He's a first round talent that doesn't get the recognition because he's been WR2 on his team every season when he'd be WR1 on any other team.
To give anything less than your best is to sacrifice the gift.
He recalls receiving hateful messages on social media after that game because of the defense’s poor play.
i cannot stress this enough.
If anyone has an inclination to reach out to a college football player (or recruit) on any socials, with disdain about a college football game, then maybe they ought to re-assess their life choices.
Ugh.. This is the nonsense I can't stand even more so than "fans" reaching out to players. Making an 18 year old kid feel some kind of way about a vice you chose to engage in? Get a life.

It was and most of that was not their fault. Good on Day for recognizing the issue and remedying it by bringing in a much better DC the following season.

That game was painful for all of us. Good for Cody, who even got personally attacked on social media, admitting it but saying this game is about who we are now, not just revenge. Mature statement from the fifth year senior. Go Buckeyes!
If your opponent knocks you on your ass, honor the game and RESPECT him. But Gentlemen, no bastard ever won a football game by getting knocked on his ass. You won it by knocking the other poor dumb bastard on his ass and making HIM respect YOU!!
In listening to the player interviews, I didn't get the sense that 'avenging' the 2021 game was the focus for any of those guys. I don't know if any of them would have spoken to it had they not been asked. This team seems very well focused on the here and now and that is playing their best game yet on Saturday!
Go Buckeyes, Down the Ducks!

There's an interview not included here, Josh Fryar's, that has a quote that might be one of the most glaring (in a negative way) I've heard from a multi-year starter at OSU...not to mention it's from the most-criticized lineman we have:
"I'm not a big- I don't like [playing] on National Television. If you mess up, everybody knows. Reporters, announcers, everybody."
I haven't found the question yet so I can't provide a positive spin on this. While I appreciate honesty and understand he said afterwards that "last year [he'd] shy away from it while this year he kind of embraces it", it's still a really bad look for someone who should be a leader on our line.

They were handicapped in 2021 by way of Kerry Coombs. Sorry, but, that DC did so little with so much. Ugh.
I don't even think he was a good CB coach at the end, definitely Peter Principled beyond his ability.
Just once in my life I want to be as amped as Treveyon Henderson was when he detonated that Akron linebacker.
Agree. Chugging Monsters and being fired up 24/7 isn't really a substitute for defensive scheme and positional knowledge.
GO BUCKS!
nailed it.
Michigan. lol.
PSA: grayed out comments get read the most. Thanks!

Egbuka is a slot- 14.4/catch

Amen. But it's way worse now with all the gambling losers.
The Ohio State University - "Haters love us!"
Baskins and Robbins? Nah, Haskins and Dobbins - KannonMic

My favorite team? Whoever is playing TTUN.
Boy that saying that my mother used to say- we need a lot of that in today’s day and age.

I like the word "avenge" much better than "revenge". Us Buckeyes have some experience with that "revenge" word circa 2018. Thank you chase winovich.
Cancer sucks!
Woot! Get your “Avenge Tour ‘24” T-Shirts on the oval!!
This much is sure. The Ducks won't score multiple tugs from the same freaking formation!! Go Bucks!!

Step away from the keyboard. It's not that deep.
I'm personally not freaking out because our line has been darn good this year. But I'd be curious how this can be spun more positively?
