They should consider moving the fall portal to after the playoffs are over or at least till after the league championship games

It is ridiculous to have the transfer portal window open before the CFP final is complete. What will end up happening is kids will be forced to enter while their current team is still in the playoffs.

For sure.  I hate that the window is open before the playoffs.  So stupid.  Let the season officially complete and then allow kids to go into the Portal.

25% seems high - suggesting only around what 10,000 fbs players? Google says something like 18-19,000.

134 FBS teams X 85 scholarship players = 11,390

There is no reason to have the first transfer window open with bowl games/playoff games to be played..makes no sense to not make it after the playoffs are done!

The Buckeyes have benefited tremendously from portal talent acquisitions. I support it 100%. It’s also fair to the players. Any of us with jobs can choose to leave for another opportunity- or we can get fired or downsized or sold off like an old jacket at a garage sale. But it’s at will - free for me to leave, free for the company to give me a pink slip. The more it can work like that for the players the better it will be. As long as the rules are clear and properly enforced, the good teams with good coaching and culture will be able to keep players and get new ones.

It was better when players generally had to sit out a year when entering the transfer portal.

On a separate note, with 12 teams making the playoffs, look for some players on lower-seeded teams to opt out.

A bad day on the water beats a good day at work.

I’d be surprised if any playoff team has players sitting out except for ones buried on the DC and not expecting to play.
