I feel like the time zone issue would only be a problem if this was an early game, and if they spent more than a day or two over there where their sleep was truly impacted. If they arrive at a decent hour and have a good process in place they should be able to get a "done with traveling" good night's rest, then have a solid half-day to get up to game speed before the 4:30pm kick off.
I'm not worried about the time zone, especially if they keep the EST time zone consistent (go to bed early, wake up early, etc.)

That’s the B1G. How's the ACC done? Seven “bicoastal” games (I’m not counting SMU @ BYU), visiting teams were 5-2, underdogs were 3-4. All three underdog winners—Cal @ Auburn, Stanford @ Syracuse, Syracuse at UNLV—were also the visitors.
Cal lost @ Florida State (-2.5)
Cal (+11.5) won @ Auburn
Stanford (+9.5) won @ Syracuse
Stanford lost @ 17 Clemson (-23.5)
Syracuse (+5.5) won @ 25 UNLV
8 Miami (-8.5) won @ Cal
Virginia Tech (-9.5) won @ Stanford

The SEC has a big advantage by gobbling up teams within their geographical region. The BIG had to get schools literally on the other side of the country. It is one thing to add NYC (Rutgers) and DC (Maryland) but adding first Nebraska and then the west coast schools was solid financially but was always going to be a challenge as far as game quality. I mean, it’s one thing for South Carolina to travel to Texas or Oklahoma, or Kentucky to travel to College Station. It’s quite another for Rutgers to go to Washington or Oregon or UCLA. But this is the new dynamic in college sports so I’m sure teams will adapt eventually. Go Bucks
When telling the truth becomes a revolutionary concept, it’s wise to join the revolution
If the Dallas Cowboys can be in the nfc EAST with teams from NY, Philly and Washington for decades then I’m sure the B1G will be just fine once they get used to it.
How is this not a problem? OSU will be playing one of their biggest games of the year at 10:30 pm OSU time not finishing up until 2 amish. You are telling me that that doesn't affect anything, especially when the data is actually pointing to that? What we refuse to look at data and tell everyone that is not us. This is crazy!!! The mere reason there is an article on Eleven Warriors is because someone can's believe how Ryan Day answered the question. I am blown away by his answer. I would much rather know that OSU hired some kind of consultant to figure out what if anything they can do to narrow the effects. I hope this doesn't bite us in the ass. I personally think OSU blows these guys out of the water, but if someone is presenting you data, it is your job to understand it and how it affects your team. This is a big, big deal that OSU is overlooking.
This whole comment is too much for me. What did you want Ryan Day to do? Break down crying? How in the hell do you overlook thousands of miles of travel. It's not possible. Get a grip.
I wanted him to say something as the data.was there. Just heard Nick Saban there is more to this story on college game day and it has been all over the news. Just want a coach that gets in front of this stuff and give us an advantage.
Understanding time zones as well as reading comprehension for some on here. Only west coast vs west coast teams occasionally play at 7:30 PST/10:30 EST.
Try living in AZ where we're the same as Utah and Colorado half the year and the same as the west coast the other half of the year. Saturday games start at 9am (love it) the early part of the season, then change to 10am after daylight saving time goes away.

I see a trend:
The better teams won.
And with almost evenly matched teams, the home team had a slight edge.
I see another trend.
USC is overrated. They're the only road team on the list that was favored and lost. Twice.

I suspect the extra 2 or 3 hours is less of an issue than the fact most of those losses were bad teams as road dogs. Not at all surprising.

Eh, the Big Ten was fine at 12 schools. It didn’t need to add anyone.
This really looks like a USC problem? They're the only one to drop the games when they were favored.

7:30 OSU time, not 10:30. It’s 4:30 Oregon time.
Right. I think Ryan Day has a better understanding of time zones than some people posting here...
