I totally understand the reasons that the teams do it. They get an extra home game, money from it, an extra win, but at the expense of fandom. I would still say it is short sighted. TV dollars like the big boy games. They have a harder time selling Alabama playing the Northeastern Chattahoochee School for the People Who Can’t Play Football Good than they do Alabama vs USC. I think that it is a losing bet in terms of money. 
 

Playing only nine power conference teams is a bitch move. It is pure chicken shit. Just because they think it benefits them doesn’t mean that it isn’t cowardly. 

The SEC had three of their sixteen teams play 2 Power 4 OOC games. The rest all played only nine Power 4 teams, unlike almost everyone in the Big 10 and the Big 12. The ACC also engages in this total cowardice. That is how Clemson plays The Citadel every year before playing South Carolina. It is the biggest bitch move in all of sports. Except for compiling a giant database of the signs of every one of your opponents so that you know all of their plays in advance. That is the bitch move of the century. 

Yo, I was as disappointed as anyone with the result, and the defense, against Oregon. I totally understand the sentiment. But Georgia eked out a 1 point win against Kentucky. Then got beaten by Alabama who subsequently got thoroughly outplayed by Vanderbilt. 
 

We have the most first world problems on the planet. 

He doesn’t always hold my favorite opinions, and sometimes some of my least favorite. But I did email him one time, and he wrote back. So for me a national sportswriter who answers a fan is alright in my book, even if I disagree with his point. The reply was semi snarky, but so was the email that I wrote to him. 

Now imagine if they played a ninth conference game instead of Mercer or the Citadel or the Arkadelphia School for the Blind in their penultimate game. They would be cannibalizing the hell out of eachother. 

Outside of the michigan games, he has been fucking fantastic. And we all know on here what went on with the michigan games. He has made a couple of bad calls in big games, the punt block attempt against Clemson, and letting Jim Knowles to lose us the Georgia game. Those were brutal. There was some bad calls and luck that went our way in those, but we still should have won both. 
 

I feel lucky that Day is our coach. 
 

I know we are all hurt by the Oregon game, but going into a bye, I think that losing there gives our team a chance to galvanize and refocus. I think that a win there gives them a chance to sit around autofellating themselves thinking about how good they are. I think that losing that particular game (the Simmons injury notwithstanding) actually gives us a better chance at winning the national title and completely destroying those bastards up in michigan on our way there. 
 

And fuck michigan.

Well I am a single father and have a couple of daughters at still at home, and the lady I am seeing still has her kids at home, and my daughters act like literal nazis to any woman I bring home, so even though I have been seeing this woman for four years, unless our kids are out we are basically limited to nooners. Now if I was getting it at night too…..but alas nooners are it. But only three more years before I get to have sex like a normal adult again.

I do not think that Oregon is a fraud. I think that defense is absolutely legit and there are several players on there that I wish were suiting up for the Buckeyes. But……..

But this offense put up 23 points against Boise St and had several turnovers. I know that their skill position players are true game breakers. But I think that offensive line is going to get completely annihilated, as is their offensive game plan. I have a ton of respect for Dillon Gabriel, and I think that he is a real difference maker, but I don’t think that he gets a chance to shine tomorrow with the guys he has charged with keeping our guys from crushing his soul. I do not think that this will be close. Knock on wood.

I feel you. I am coaching in a basketball tournament, but my sister gave me her peacock password so I will at least have it on my phone. One of my player’s parents are from Ohio, and we will have it on the whole time. I will have a parent running the game and giving me updates from the stands.

I think that what takes this entire thing way, way beyond just advanced scouting is that these michigan wasn’t just sending Connor Stallions mom or great aunt or whatever to these games and then asking them what signs they could pick up, michigan was paying for the infrastructure to obtain complete videos of entire games worth of signs, which they could spend the season decoding. 

More than anything, the recordings of all of the signs to be picked apart against game footage is what is against the letter and the spirit of the rule. 
 

And what made it so abnormally advantageous for their coaches. 
 

Like I think that if Stallions, even if he is some kind of savant, had just attended and watched the games and tried to figure it out on the fly, we would be less outraged, and it would have been significantly less effective.  The video is the key to the entire thing.
