I kinda disagree with this statement that they’ve been getting after it all year because this was against a #3 team. All other games before Oregon were against unranked teams this year. So it seems like he’s poo-pooing the loss. Like the BSB, I’m kinda concerned about how this team bounces back next week against the Huskers, especially with their QB who can sling it.

Me too! Go Bucks!

Do we play lots of 4-3 against Iowa to defend the run and get Avrell Reese in the game?
I think you meant Jameson Williams, not Jeremiah Williams, who transferred from THE to Bama after the 2020 season (2021 season was Marv’s freshman year). But your point is well taken.
I’ll watch TCUN and hope they lose. I want to see if the Goofs can 1) stop the run against them; 2) stifle their DE from being a sack and pressure monster; and 3) prevent #2 CB Johnson from walking up and jumping the Goofs out pass for another pick six.
I feel like if your team can prevent them from doing these three things, then you will have a great chance of winning and beating them. Of course, I will also be looking for anything else new to their attack - completed forward passes or trick plays? - that might be a concern nine weeks down the road when we play them.
I really thought last week that we would hold Marshall to single digits or less so when we gave up two tuddies, call me surprised. So I expect us to come out this week and really lay the wood because we are out for blood this year but I will not be surprised if Chiles scores a couple of tuddies on us early too, unless Knowles channels his inner blitz krieg personality.
That was two times ago against Marshall where we won 24-21 on a late 55-yard field goal by Mike Nugent in 2004; we smacked them down in 2010 on a season opening Thursday night game at the Shoe, 45-7, with Terrelle Pryor leading the way in the last time we played them.
At least, Buckeye Ed! Our Defense gives up zero points and that includes the backups. Offense rolls. There’s no thunder in this Herd and our offense just keeps going. 59-0.
I love watching CJ play and I think he found a great home with the Texans coaching staff. And management who are building depth and weapons around him. Now I wish he was in Cleveland; wish he had our fans.
Love the videos, Kyle, especially the detailed leverage by the DT & NG stuffing the plays in the first few actions you picked. The first one helped me see why Ty Hamilton won DPOTW vs WM.
If you are working, I can understand that you might not have time to fully digest the videos details of Kyle's presentation, so I get that.
Love the video format, Kyle, and love the last two snippets on plays showing nickel dog sim pressure and the rotation to Tampa 2 when Joe Morehead’s defense started out in a single high safety look. Plus this showed the blitz pick up better on the second snip and just the overall success of the play with a TD pass vs a bad lateral that Will Howard almost lost.
The fact that you tied this to the previous video film study session this offseason, referencing what Jessie Minter’s defense did for TCUN against us for three years, only makes me want to see more of this type of video film study breakdown and showing us what we can expect from Don “Wink” Martindale et.al.
Go Bucks!!
Was this from the presser on Tuesday 8/27? Or from today (Weds. 828)?
I think the $13M NIL target was a couple years ago by RD and Bjork more recently, like last month, said that this year’s NIL target was around $20M. That’s still a good difference.
All the best to KW going forward, he gave his heart, body and mind to his team and teammates and he deserves nothing but the best from life as a true Buckeye.
Bingo! Chip Kelly’s influence needs to be repeated. Go Bucks!
Make sure your millionaire coach has a plan for you to re-recruit you every year? I think it’s only fair for the school and the fans to get their money’s worth. Go Bucks!!
So true. When Thad hurt his back in practice with drills with the team (I think that’s how he got injured and the foot drop), he eventually was not the same recruiter, losing a lot of mobility.
2014 Joey Bosa walk off sack in 2OT win (31-24) was also a White out game in Franklin’s first season at PSU.
For sure you would expect CJ to improve in his second year and I am impressed. I wish he was on the Browns.
JT? He was one of the three players who attended B1G media days for THE last year. He’s at the top of my list too.
Dylan Raiola, freshman quarterback.
I think the byes go to the top four ranked conference champions so it’s possible that a G5 conference champion takes a bye (seed 1-4) away from a P4 conf champion, if the G5 has a better record and gets ranked higher by the committee. Think UC making the 4 team playoffs in 2021. The P4 conference champions all still make the playoffs just one doesn’t get the bye.
Pepe & Pittman; both were overachievers who ran hard and were durable. Go Bucks!!
I really hope we get an AA year out of Jackson and maybe a few more DL & OLmen because we need to be elite in the run game and defending the run.
