The stores say it's the Christmas season already.  Can I get a Jahkeem Stewart OSU commitment under the tree this year?

Personally, I’ve been hoping he would stay another year. I’m getting serious Quinn Ewers vibes and I don’t like it. Probably just me though.

Hmm

Not following. Ewers plays a position where 1 guy and 1 guy only plays the entire game (ours was CJS by the way) and you need at least a year in the program to have a handle on a fraction of the offense. JS would be in the 2-deep from day 1. He'd be more like JJ Smith.

Ewers vibes in the sense that he’s making (IMO) an immature decision at a pivotal time in his life. It seems like many of these reclassification decisions are made for financial reasons that seem good in the short term but can have an adverse effect long term.

Go back and lead your team as a senior. Work on your craft and help your teammates get better. Build character. Just because your body is ready doesn’t mean your brain is.

Hmm

I don't know a thing about this kid other than what I read, but his coach said he's been besting blue chip high schoolers since middle school. All the scouting services gush over him. Sounds like he's one of the few exceptions. He'll get to the NFL a year earlier with a year less of damage to his body.

How was Ewers a bad/immature decision? Got paid an extra $1 million, spent a year learning under Stroud and the QB whisperer, and then got an even bigger payday to go to UT where he was ready to take over the starting job in what would have otherwise been his true freshman season. Sounds like a pretty smart plan to me. Worked out well for him, just not us.

Reclassifying would be bad for the vast, vast majority of kids. But sometimes there are exceptions.

How was Ewers a bad/immature decision?

  1. He didn’t get a senior year of HS.
  2. Came to camp late and didn’t assimilate well.
  3. Homesick
  4. Didn’t play at all.
  5. Didn’t make it to NFL a year earlier.
  6. The effect on our team was net negative.

Other than make some kombucha money and drive a nice truck, what was good about his decision?

Hmm

Lol. Are you his therapist or his girlfriend that you know his innermost feelings?
1. Who gives a shit? You want to scam in high school girls when you could be at college?
2-3. You know this how? He still has friends at OSU.
4. Thinking practicing every day at OSU under Day and learning from Stroud trumps even the best Texas high school coaching. By a lot. And by the way, it has him in the Heisman race.
5. Semantics. He will be going pro after what would be his third year of college. By going to OSU he got 3 full years as a starter, which probably doesn't happen as a true freshman.
6. The effect on our team doesn't impact him.

And yes, at that kombucha money was at least an extra $1 million if not more. Would anyone turn that down? He's going to be a Heisman finalist, take Texas to the playoffs and be a first-round pick. I think his decision making skills are pretty solod. If you think having an extra beer bust and going to the prom is worth all that, good for you.

If Chris Henry remains true to his verbal and signs with Ohio State, then good for him and tOSU.

I Predict that he will get offers...

In old Ohio there's a team that's known throughout the land...

I don't follow juniors too much in highschool since a lot happens and I can't remember all the names but I know Henry was thinking about reclassifying to 25 at one point. Is he still concerning it? I have to imagine being in a college program would be better for the rehab process than a highschool/ out patient PT.

LSU being a joke under that charlatan Brian Kelley helps our chances as does USC still being garbage. This Saturday's game vs Oregon will be THAT much more important now and I can't wait!!!
GO Bucks!

Jahkeem, you can indeed fit perfectly in our defense

Jahkeem is going to tough to pry away from LSU's boosters. Their NIL collectives will be making him their top priority this year.

This quote here from Jakeem Stewart:

The majority of these kids out here, majority of these men out here, no disrespect, it's going to be a lot of trying to just block me and compete with me for four quarters. And with coach Johnson's mindset, we'll do great things together.”

is a incredible self confidence in his abilities.  I believe it.  Coach Larry Johnson can unleash the beast in the field.

In Ryan Day & Ross Bjork We Trust.
