Praising yourself as being one of the best is...awful.  I get that national fame is hard for a young kid to deal with.  Hopefully his coaches and mentors on the team can give him some pointers on humility (in general, but especially with regards to the media).

Football is a team sport.  Winning the games, as a team, is all that matters.  I'd love it if our players stuck to this 100%, instead of letting the media bog them down with questions about stats, individual awards, etc.  Don't take the bait.

Meaning...we don't need PFF to tell us that Emeka is better than Michigan's 2nd string WR.  But if it could really analyze whether JT or Sawyer was better at executing his assignments, I'd be interested.

Without knowing the play call and thus the assignments/responsibilities, this seems half worthless.  Not totally useless.  But wouldn't the value of PFF be in discovering the differences between players that appear to be similar caliber?  And in such case...the error rate (who knows...10%, 20%) would make it useless for that purpose.

Now if people at PFF had video of the plays being signaled in, along with a cheat sheet to interpret the play calls, it would make their product close to perfect.  Any chance they could hire some genius kid to run such an operation?

But even for the later rounds, you could analyze by year and by draft round to see if they are still on active rosters.  That might be telling.

Say if for the 2023 NFL draft 4th round, 21 of the 29 non-Michigan draft picks (72%) were still on 53-man rosters, but only 1 of the 3 Michigan picks was. (33%)  If in the aggregate, that lower percentage was a trend for Michigan, that would be very telling.  Also, all those numbers are made up and for illustration only.

The observations are interesting, but it's anecdotal.  Could anyone create an analysis on all the Michigan players drafted from the 2021-2023 teams (college football years) and see if they are objectively/measurably underperforming expectations based on draft position?

That would be an insanely useful talking point to have.  To prove that the group is performing worse than 32 professional GM's expected them to, based on their college tape and "achievements".

This was for B10+, but I signed up with the UCLA24 code.  However, I don't think this gives any live football games.  Only other sports, non-televised.  But it may give you access to the football games a day later on replay, if you have patience to wait!

Are there any promo codes for BTN that allow free or reduced price football streaming access?

I don't know what's typical.  Is multiple rings for one season normal?  I just assumed you got one ring at the end of the year, and the ring corresponded to your highest level of achievement. (winning Big Ten, natty, whatever)

When we won in 2014, how many rings did each player get?

To the OP:  Telling people what they should or shouldn't like is kind of obnoxious.

Unless you're saying they should watch it (or read about it) even if they don't like it.  But that's hardly less obnoxious.

I don't have an honest assessment.

But I do honestly despise him and hope he fails terrifically.  I can't decide if I'd rather him fall dramatically in the draft, to perhaps the 3rd day (and still fail), or if I'd rather him be drafted on day 1 but also fail.

I'd love it if he was cut during rookie training camp.  Or has to be taken out of his week 1 game because he has a mental breakdown, can't find the center to line up behind, and has to be guided each play by the RB to the right spot.

The issue there is that it eliminates special teams.  It's just your offense running another play against their defense.  That's already what 95% of the game looks like.  Onsides kicks are exciting because it's a very unique play!  I'd love to see more of them.

As to the current low conversion rates on onsides kicks, that's mostly due to the lack of a running start.  So a simple solution is to allow the running start for declared onsides kicks.

Comment 26 Mar 2024

True.  It increases the artificiality and eliminates surprise onsides.  No more Pat McAfee fun.

But since they have to be declared, they should tweak current onsides rules to allow a running start. (JUST FOR ONSIDES)  The conversion percentage has dropped far too low, and this would give teams more of a shot at a comeback.

I love special teams and miss kickoffs, so I'm excited about this half measure.  It's a bit artificial, but it's better than just having every drive automatically start at X yard line.
