Welcome to pro football lite.
So the NCAA can act quickly. I'm shocked. I was somewhat conflicted, impressed with Lanning's creativity, but upset he would push the envelope in at a bare minimum, an unsportsmanlike way to gain a clearly deciding edge.
We get too conservative in the 4th quarter in big games, afraid to go for the jugular, in my opinion. Doing the same thing over again, little aggression or physicality and expecting different results. Perhaps others see it differently but this is culture and coaching in my mind. No one likes to be punched in the mouth, but in football, you need to punch back, and harder.
I don't think Frye is much better than an average recruiter and average developer of talent, and we can't rely on kids from the Mountain West via the portal to play OT. The strength of Wiscy and Iowa is development.
If you include international players. For just the USA, Stanford is the clear leader.
When being the best is the standard here, why are we retaining average-at-best? Ghosts of Bill Davis.
Show me the money!!!!!
Great job ladies!!!
Yes. 20 rebounds? Awful.
It's not a complete team by any means. Iowa is the class of the Big this year.
Great job Jesse! Ohio State will be very good next year. I can't see anyone unseating Penn State though while Sanderson is coaching.
True, but expect to be down-voted by the 15% that live in an alternate universe.
Frye isn't going anywhere. Give it up.
I thank Holman for his time here but the program absolutely needed to move in a different direction.
Agreed. I never could see how a special teams coach was a position of need.
This is coaching. You cannot defend the indefensible. Time for this staff to depart whether willingly or not.
Certainly hard to predict what 2025 will bring but Frye did a great job landing Lowe, a highly-skilled and big OL desired by Michigan, Georgia, Alabama, etc. Huge get for sure.
After a great few weeks, I guess we shouldn't complain too much. Kelly is is too close to Day for my taste, even if he wants to bail on LA, and I believe his what were once novel ideas have long since been adjusted to effectively by other staffs. There have to be better candidates out there than mentioned in the piece.
We're on pace for a record-breaking season, as per all-time low attendance! That's money, and that will, and should, move the needle significantly in Bjork's mind if it does not in Gene's.
Even basic math is a challenge for many, esp the overly emotional.
If you read the article carefully like the complainers on here ( big eye roll), you would have read that Iowa finished second to Alabama in his recruitment. Why wouldn't he go there? Plus, it's his home state and it's not like Iowa is an annually bad team. Stop the whining.
Give me a thumbs up if you think Day got the message.
I don't love this hire, but I don't hate it either. I hope he pushes me to the former over time.
As a proud graduate of the Ohio State University, this hire is rather troubling to me for any number of reasons. I'm willing to give him time, however, to prove me wrong.
Sports Illustrated was equally troubled, having penned this today:

The media more often than not has its own agenda but there is much in this article that is quite concerning. Let's all hope this guy proves me wrong.
