I sometimes wonder if Pantoni and the recruiting staff look too much into stars vs. anything else. We just have too many highly rated players all over the field but they play with MAC level ability when it matters most.

I am just flabbergasted by this entire thing. I feel like we are back to square one all over again and its really unbelievable. I honestly don't think Knowles OR LJ are the guys to get this done. We went out and got the best safety in the country and thought it would put us over the top finally and we actually look worse or just the same as before. I am at a loss here.
Agreed 100%.
Oh I am sure he does. He probably has a team soley dedicated to it and that's how they used it and knew to use it so quickly.
Something needs to be done with the OL and at this point I am not sure Day has the ability to make a good hire here.
Sounds like Oregon's staff is well versed in the NCAA bylaw playbook. Anyone playing them down the stretch, especially if they make the playoff should be careful.
It's crazy to think all it took was that one game to realize nothing has changed, at all. This is still a bad defense no matter how you wanna spin it. Teams will exploit the hell out of Burke and the total absence of pass rush. IU and Nebraska, PSU, etc... Sit in the pocket, take the top off and throw it over Burke all day every day. LB play is soft, DE's nonexistent. DT's are as average as it gets. We got exposed again. Now, we just have to hope we can out-talent the rest of the schedule, squeak in the CFP and then hope we don't get a Jaxson Dart in the first round.
Oh yes, the Calvin Johnson rule. The "process" of catching a TD that never existed prior to the refs taking the TD away from CJ that one day in Chicago I believe... Then, all of a sudden all these new rules are created on what a TD is and isn't.
He outsmarted Day, which isn't that hard to do honestly. We've seen him get outplayed time and time again.
I like Day and don't really want him fired but I find it harder and harder to consider him elite. He and this program routinely continue crapping the bed when it matters most.
Lanning confirmed this morning on ESPN that it was indeed intentional.
I’m sure it tears them up when they’re driving their Lamborghini to the Woody in the morning.
Not going to pile on here BUT. The defense last night looked just like it has against all other elite teams we’ve played since Knowles was hired. 5-6 huge plays? What’s changed? You go out and get a million dollar safety in the portal and hope it’s going to be better?
No pass rush. The DL was nonexistent again. Same story. Same results. The blueprint to beat this team was laid out on a silver platter last night. Nebraska, IU etc will feast on Burke and the lacK of pass rush.
These guys are all making 6-7 figures. And they are not kids. It’s fair game to openly criticize them nowadays.
Ryan Day cannot win big games and Knowles defense can’t get it done when it matters most. Same ol’ story.
Bama is in serious trouble when Saban’s recruits filter out.
Didn't they not only lose Williams but also Mechie as well?
Dressed for their own funeral, Cute.
Sometimes you just have to come to the realization that you aren't as good as you think you are. I just don't see any benefit to transferring 3 plus times. Get your degree and be ready to enter the work force. You ain't going pro.
I love chicken salad sammies.
The AH thing is just wild. He allegedly killed 3 people while at UF as well. I asked Zach Smith once on a call in show what kind of dude he was in the locker room and he said he was insane even back then.
Bama will be interesting to watch as the Saban recruits filter out of the program. His presence will still be felt for awhile but you gotta wonder… I think it’s totally delusional to think a new coach is just going to keep on winning at that level simply because it’s Bama. Most seem to forget the mid 90’s thru 2006. There’s nothing magical there, it was just Saban.
Mine was a 1987 Oldsmobile Cutlass Supreme with a V8. Loved that car. It was metallic maroon.
We are all getting old. I grew up a Cubs fan but spent alot of time at Riverfront as a kid going to games with my buddy and his dad. Saw Rose play many games.
Smug yuppies, sums up the PNW pretty well. Also, TTUN. ;)
