Where is the coverage of Josh Simmons did he undergo surgery?  What type of injury is he or is he NOT gone for the season.  Why not some discussions about the OTHER offensive lineman what are they good at, what do they need to show improvement at??

Why wasnt burke subbed out?  He was BENCHED after 1 play vs ND  you let him get turned into a peice of burned toast... we are so deep in the secondary where was  one of the other studs we have on the roster not put into the game...he couldnt have done any worse!!!

Can we just stop with the lies Eleven Warriors?  This defense BEFORE the Oregon game was NOT even in the parking lot of the sadium of best in school history defense.  What did you IDOITS just start watching OSU in the last 10 years so you are CLUELESS about OSU defense historically???  The 1973 OSU defense had 4 shut outs in its first 8 games and allowed 20 points for the season in those first 8 games  during that 8 game stretch no opponent scored more than 7 point in a game.  They played#10 TCUN to a 10-10 tie and went to the rose bowl (something that ate a bo schembechler the rest of his life) and would go on to beat USC and was voted #1.

For the SEASON OSU gave up a total of 53 points... This defense cant even open its mouth about best in school history.

This defense is NO WHERE near best in school history and that was BEFORE the Oregon game.  1973 the buckeye defense had given up just 33 points in 9 games. They would go on to tie TCUN 10-10 and best USC for the national championship(back then it was just the final poll ranking)  OSU allowed just 53 points allowed for the ENTIRE season.

Josh Pate is the equvilent of believing the that National Equire is hard hitting journalism... Pate is a clown.  Over the years I have had a few ex buckeye starters who were friends.  I know them personal and they know me by face and name... you get a very different perspective to listen to these guys breaking down film... film doesn't lie.  Thats why I watch podcasts that are doing film breakdown of the all 22 film which is what the coaches look at to do film breakdown.   

They need to unleash the DL and live with the results but this bend but dont break crap doesnt work against ELITE college offenses... you simply can not give these incredible quarterback that are very athletic all day because your scared he is going to hurt you by evading the rush.   You give him all day and he will pick your secondary apart.  Burke was way too aggressive trying to jump the routes and they saw that on film and exploited that... they should have benched him the second time he tried to jump a route...

The defense is an easier fix by making some adjustments.  The offensive line is a bigger more serious issue.  Between moving Tsbola to LT and Sereveld to RG, then you are looking at Fitzpatick,  Zen, and Montgomery one of them has to STEP up and worse cast become a trusted back up... you only move tsbola if none of those 3 is ready to step up...

I just do not buy the friction argument.  LJ is not a young dude...if he wasn't bought in he would retire he has made more money in the last 5 years than I would imagine he ever thought he would make.  He could retire and not have a financial worry the rest of his life.

I think we have the cart out in front here.  The loss of Simmons is potentially a nightmare come true.  They need to find out QUICKLY who their best LT is and get them reps because if LT is a big issues then the rest of the season is a big issue.

What do you mean it wont be easy?  Day sits down with Knowles and Johnson and if there isnt 100% agreement on who is in charge of the Defense then Johnson is fired.  Knowles is in charge PERIOD.   Day hired knowels calling him the HEAD COACH of the Defense that means Knowles boss is Day the rest of the defensive staff is subordinate to Knowles if there is any incongruity there we will lose more games.

Larry Johnson is a POSITION COACH with a title.  He is NOT an Equal to Knowles when it comes to the defense I can assure you there is absolutely no way that he would have come here if he wasn't the man in charge.  If you recall Day called the hiring the HEAD COACH of the Defense.  Knowles runs the defense, END OF STORY.   If Larry Johnson is not doing what Knowles wants then Johnson needs to be IMMEDIATELY FIRED along with Ryan Day for allowing that in his Organization.  EVERYONE HAS TO BE ON THE SAME PAGE, SINGING THE SAM SONG or you will not reach your goals ANYONE who has run an organization KNOWS THIS.

What makes you think we will win out?  Did you not see a defense that gave up almost 500 yards, could not get ANY pressure on Oregon's QB even when they ran slow developing routes?  Did you miss Burke getting REPEATEDLY torched?  Add to that losing our best offensive lineman and a starting TE at place we could least afford losing players and I see absolute NO REASON to think that we are just going to waltz to the B1GCC... Iowa is a one-dimensional offense.  I give them a bear front look, stone the run play man under with your safeties in zone.   You tell your corners it go time and you ask Burke, Hancock, and the boys to deny the passing game.  Iowa best rush defense they have faced is ranked 63rd. In short, they have not faced a good defense yet this is THEIR first test lets not forget that!!   If Knowles decided to attack Iowa and challenge the QB to beat OSU with his arm then we will take that risk but your not running the ball.

I think that Kelly's running scheme is going to be effective against Iowa because Iowas secondary is VERY vulernable they are not frankly very good.  OSU exploites that and forces Iowa to make big adustments that allow the running game to whip saw Iowa leaving them with a beaten bloody pulp.

Everyone is complaining about the lack of sacks and the "domination" of the DL but KNOWELS is trading the high risk approach for a make the drive 75 yards with12 plays consistently and we dont think you can approach.  It has resulted in a defense that is #1 in scoring defense and #2 in yards allowed.
