I agree. I read that full quote and thats sorta what I got from it. Time will tell.

That isn't what was said but if you want to take it as such, go for it.
Do people want him or any coach to say "Yeah man, we were shocked at what they were doing and this is a huge wakeup call.. idk what we are gonna do?"
Good grief.
All coaches say these things. It isn't just Day. Urban did the same thing. I remember 2016 - "We gotta get the O Line fixed" every week from Urban. Y'all just being butthurt.
Ohio State could lose and make it in, yes but no - let's not. They must beat Penn State. Idc how hard it is - you have to beat Penn State. No Exceptions.
We will find out what the team is made of here real soon. I have faith and optimism but a loss to Penn State and I am out for this year's team. Even if they make the playoff I think. Need to win out and beat Oregon in a rematch. Something I think they can do.
I could be wrong but I thought Penn State could only do the whiteout once a year. I really think this game will be on Fox as it will likely be a top 5 matchup.
To be fair, I think a lot of fans at least around here understand this. Its the doubt that anything will change is why there is so much pessimism. But it can change, its a matter of will it?
I am staying optimistic, albeit perhaps I am just blind. We shall see.
This is my thoughts that I made elsewhere regarding this team -
Tough loss. Our fanbase gets really emotional and I do think overreacts a bit but personally I am starting to hit a breaking point.
I am not a "fire this person" type of guy. I like Day. I think Day like Dabo or Kirby or even Jim could eventually win a title. All three of those guys had to get over the hump - Day needs to as well. However.. with this roster and the expectations we have - I have to see something tangible here. I don't need a title per say, but for me Ohio State must win out in the B1G, win the big and win at least ONE playoff game for me to not jump on the "start firing people" bandwagon.
I am excited to see how the team responds, I really am. Will they come together and will we adjust (I understand why people think this isn't likely) or will we fold and the players just focus on the draft?
Not out on Day or others just yet but this is my last stand with them. What are you made of Ohio State? What are you going to do?
34-13 Buckeyes win.
If Ohio State doesn't give up less than 100 total yards, people lose their minds.
45-10
If Ohio State can run the ball well, it will be fine I think - don't need to have CJ Stroud levels of deep passing.
I think the first two games though we had some nice pressure though - so perhaps this isn't the norm but the exception. We shall see.
Agree. We have a good defense.. we aren't going to shut everyone out. We had less than 100 yards against us in the second half and no points scored - those are things you like to see after a sleepy start.
Just not realistic to think Ohio State won't give up points.
I remember when Cincinnati scored like 30 points on the 2014 National Championship team lol.
Sometimes I think our players maybe just don't play as well as we think they should and while that isn't a good thing - I don't think I am worrying about your concern just yet. I am a touch worried about D Line pressure.
I really am not too upset about the game. D didn't play great in the first half but...otherwise - pretty solid game where Ohio State played fine. Fine isn't good in November but it isn't November yet.
