Tough task taking on the Nebraska front in your first start of the year. We will know how ready he is quickly.
Nebraska remains a dogshit offensive team. The defense is big, mean, and stingy. The offense is a true freshman who impersonates Mahomes with 1/3 the talent, and a bunch of try hards who are currently being recruited over. In 3-4 years this will be a big game. This year, it will be very similar to Iowa.
The DC, Tony White, is one of the few coaches I wouldn't mind Day taking a look at if Knowles doesn't right the defensive ship.

Fumble on your own 28 to give Oregon the ball. 8 penalties for 70 yards. There's your game. Game of inches, and the Buckeyes killed their chances. Burn the rest of the schedule down, and then go to Indy.
Helps the Buckeyes. But should affect nothing.
That red zone stat hasn't been talked about enough. Same with the fact that Oregon hasn't played a top 40 defense yet.
Oh. My. God. It's raining cocaine!

Buckeyes 35-14. It'll be 14-7 OSU at the half. Then the 3rd quarter hits.
It was Spring Game 2011. I will never forget it.
Jeremiah Smith needs to hold the damn ball. Howard is not good deep. And makes at least one dumb play a quarter. Offense would be at 21 if they stuck with the run. Defense is doing great. It's another Iowa game. The Hawkeyes will turn it over at least once. Have to capitalize.
Howard, in my opinion, is a rich man's Krenzel. He won't be the Heisman candidate, isn't a Stroud-like transcendent talent. But he is capable, will help the team far more than hurt it, knows his role and does what is asked of him. Perfect? No. Capable of getting the Buckeyes their first 12-team playoff title? Absolutely.
Added Clack too!
They're twins. Second pair of La Salle twins the Buckeyes have gotten in the past 6 years. Hopefully this pair turns out better. I like Declan's game. Shades of a young Chris Gray.
With 9 commitments already, I would expect 3-4 more to round out this class short term. Depending on what happens after 2025, of course.
Another caveat: Inside Lacrosse ranks what they see, but rarely do guys outside the top 15 translate well at the next level. A lot more misses than hits. Look at Duke.
5-star ratings don't always mean 5-star results. Playing lacrosse every day isn't for most high schoolers after they graduate. Hence the many top recruits that quit lacrosse after coming to OSU.
Inside Lacrosse ranks Finch as the #30 player in 2026. OSU is actually doing the best it has in a whole with 4 top 100 recruits (per IL). Downside is that TTUN is pulling in 8 4-star recruits, though not all are top 100 guys. Most of the Big Ten started kind of slow, the Wolverines excluded.
It's also important to remember that September 2024 commitments don't translate to November 2025 signings. Buckeyes have a really bad track record of closing out recruits from out of state.
It will be interesting all the way to signing day. If signing day even exists next year.
BOOOOOOOOOMMM! Probably the highest rated recruit OSU will be able to pull this cycle commits early! James Finch, of the famed St. Thomas Aquinas in Florida, is a Buckeye! Welcome, Mr. Finch!
BOOOOOOOM! Ohio State gets its lefty as Hunter Thompson commits to the Buckeyes! Ohio State has shifted its whole strategy the past two classes. Tons of Canadians, and I believe the first two Haudenosaunee players to ever commit to the Buckeyes.
Look for lots of two man games, elevated shooting, and hopefully goals in a few years! Welcome, Mr. Thompson!
BOOM! Another defensive commit as Tyler McCottry declares for the Buckeyes out of Loyola Blakefield! Welcome, Mr. McCottry!
Double BOOOOOM!
Amaan Cambrelen and Gavin Gaertner join the class! Welcome aboard!!
BOOOOOOMMM! A MASSIVE (literally) commit from Joe Florada, a top 100 defender who is 6'6". Big man, hopefully with a big game. Welcome, Mr. Florada!
BOOOOOOOMMMM!!! Ohio State grabs its goalie in 4-star Gabriel James of Texas! Welcome aboard, Mr. James!
90% sure one of them is Paccione.
Post this and then find out 2 recruits committed just a few hours before. Silly me.
