I think the biggest issue is expectations, which are always outsized where OSU is involved but even more this season given how many defensive players eschewed the NFL draft and how highly rated they were (especially the defensive ends) coming out of HS. Jack and JTT should both be game wreckers. Neither have quite reached that territory in their careers save for JTT during THAT PSU game. Jack has been very good on balance late last season and in this one pre-Oregon. They should absolutely dominate subpar O-lines and get their fair share of highlights against elite ones. Word is they have the juice, the only question is will the defensive coaches figure out how best to employ them to create consistent pressure or will they continue to be a non-factor in talent equated games. All I know is I would pay good money to bring back Nick Bosa for his lost year of eligibility...

1A. May (Rising star, great potential, I think transition to a bigger school for Bball is overblown... Gonzaga has <7500 students)

1B. Diebler (Ohioan, alum... if he kills it and they make the Dance... he needs a shot)

No. Oats (Covered for his players... not for tattoos, for MURDER)

No. Miller (Was pretty good, cheated to get great, now on a downward trajectory... hopefully Chargers follow suit)

Alabama saw a lot of elite talent jump ship despite hiring another proven high-end coach, a program that has been the gold standard for the better part of two decades, and zero active NCAA investigations. The kids seem to like Moore and their hubris is clinical, but I still don’t see a future where at least a handful of their top remaining guys move on from the sinking ship. Moore has never run a program, Jim will likely poach his most productive coworkers, and he certainly won’t be able to run the ball 30 times in a row next season…

Reliving that botched throw to Chip made me a bit ill physically... realizing that play could have won the Peach Bowl just hurt my soul.

Ideally, Will Howard performs at an elite level this season while advancing this team to a title. Sayin and Noland stay to battle it out to start in 2025 and perhaps even backup Howard this season depending on how Brown or Kienholz shake out in the Spring. There's an argument to make that keeps both on the roster... the CFB season will now be longer and more grueling than ever... and Florida State provided a case study this season in how one injured QB can completely implode what was chalked to be a CFP lock. If there is buy-in to a plan for both 5* to develop and get at least one season as a starter to audition for the NFL... when paired with a boatload of NIL money, it just might work.

He probably has a lot of value in other areas that merit retention but between Day and O'Brien it would be a waste to keep another QB guy at a countable staff position. Now unless there is a can't miss DL coach prospect to set up as heir apparent to LJ, the next move is too obvious...
